Mr. Donohue joined SMM Project LLC in November 2009 as its Chief Financial Officer with more than twelve years of capital markets experience including business development, financial modeling, investment research publication and investment banking. Mr. Donohue was the first member of the capital markets department of Northland Securities, having joined the firm as eight months after its inception in 2002 as a senior research analyst and becoming its Director of Research. Most recently Mr. Donohue served as a Managing Director, Investment Banking for Northland, and directed the firm’s private equity practice. In addition to numerous completed capital raising assignments, Mr. Donohue advised clients on mergers and acquisitions and strategic options. Mr. Donohue joined Northland Securities in March 2003 from Henry Schafer Partners, an independent equity research firm, where he had been a principal. Mr. Donohue’s five years of experience as a senior equity research analyst included publishing analytical reports and recommendations on more than thirty publicly held companies in sectors including medical device, consumer cyclical, industrial and technology. Mr. Donohue’s began his career on a team that developed a discount securities brokerage business for a regional broker-dealer. Mr. Donohue is a mentor for the Carlson School Growth Fund at the University of Minnesota and past programming chair and board member for the CFA Society of Minnesota, a professional organization serving over 1,200 charterholders in Minnesota. Mr. Donohue has also served as a board observer and advisory board member for private companies. He received his undergraduate degree in Finance with honors from Creighton University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
