Committee Roles & Responsibilities
Business & Financial Management Committee
Chair: Treasurer
The Business and Financial Management Committee shall assist, support, and advise the Treasurer in the discharge of his/her duties as described herein. It shall be the responsibility of this committee to assure appropriate investment of surplus funds and to work with the treasurer to develop the annual budget for the society and be knowledgeable about all budgetary issues. This committee shall meet on an ad hoc basis as called by the Treasurer.
Education Committee
Chair: Director at Large, as appointed
The Education Committee shall develop and offer to the members programs for improving analytical techniques and advancement within the profession. It shall also oversee the society scholarship program and shall act as liaison to both local educational institutions and prep course service providers as appropriate. This committee shall also make itself available to current and potential members with questions regarding Education as it pertains to the CFA Institute and CFA designation. This committee shall be in charge of organizing volunteer mentors and connecting them with new member mentees in conjunction with the Membership Committee. This committee shall meet on an ad hoc basis as called by the Committee Chair.
Employment Committee
Chair: Director at Large, as appointed
The Employment Committee shall act as a clearinghouse for the membership of the Society, collecting and furnishing information on employment. It shall also be in charge of content for the Employment section on the Society website, including the Society Job and Resume boards. This committee shall meet on an ad hoc basis as called by the Committee Chair.
Membership and Ethics Committee
Chair: Director at Large, as appointed
The Membership and Ethics Committee shall review applications for membership or for change in membership status, in accordance with the CFA Institute Bylaws, and make its recommendations for approval by the Board of Directors. The Membership and Ethics Committee shall also be available to potential and current members regarding membership questions, and in attracting and organizing volunteers on behalf of the society. Additionally, the Membership and Ethics Committee shall review and make recommendations concerning: the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice, compliance with rules and regulations of this Society, the CFA Institute, and any government regulatory body; and charges of violation of rules of professional ethical conduct or other ethical consideration as they pertain to matters not governed by the CFA Institute. (See Article Nine below, Section 3). It shall also be in charge of content for the Membership section of the Society website. The committee shall also assist those members/applicants seeking assistance with membership and will connect incoming members with sponsors as well as This committee shall meet monthly as called by the Committee Char.
Programs Committee
Chair: Director at Large, as appointed
The Programs Committee shall arrange to provide speakers to address the members of the Society at reasonably frequent intervals on subjects related to, financial analysis and other topics of general interest to the members.
Public Awareness/Advocacy
Chair: Director at Large, as appointed
The Public Awareness/Advocacy Committee shall be the Primary liaison between the Center for Financial Market Integrity and the Society; develop the Society marketing and advertising strategy; recommend how to use the CFA Institute promotion allowance; implement the promotional strategy; spearhead Society communications in the geographic area on advocacy and policy issues; and develop and maintain relations with the local media.
Strategic Planning
Chair: Vice President
Strategic Planning Committee shall maintain the Mission, Vision and Strategic Objectives of the Society and lead the development and implementation of the Society's Strategic Plan.
